My Blog-Friend Went to South Padre and All I Got Was This Blog Post

Greetings from the tropics of Texas! There is nothing more relaxing than just sitting on the beach, looking for sea shells and listening to the surf roll in. Baby Bug runs back and forth, chasing the waves but afraid to get her feet wet, like the little shore birds darting back and forth [...]

Going on Vacation

Well, we’re off in the AM, so I won’t be around here. There is no internet connection at KOA, nor at the various rest stops we will be stopping at over the next several days.
Please stop by in early September and I’ll share all about our adventures and be getting started with the beginning [...]

A Most Romantic Gift

We have a lot of books. Mostly because I dearly love books, especially children’s books. My children spend most of their time reading the same ones over and over and I and my oldest spend a good deal of time picking up after Bear and Bug’s reading adventures. So I had a [...]

Hot Magenta, and the Palette of a Family Ritual

Hot magenta, like its duller cousin pink, is in the red family. It is bright and attention grabbing, reminding me both of the eighties and of neon signs in Vegas. Keeping Sociable on Long Trips

I can’t believe that it is almost here already, but next week we shall be leaving on vacation. Due to my husband’s job, we STILL do not know exactly when we will be leaving, but we will be gone almost two weeks as we travel across five states with an end destination in deep south [...]

So I digress…

I have enjoyed the recent discussions I have had the pleasure of having in my comment box recently, especially those with the intelligent socialists which seem to be perusing through.
This comment has got to be my all-time favorite, though. I’m not quite sure how to describe it, however. Creative? Or demented?
Any [...]

Grandparents Arrested for Kidnapping Their Grandson

This story is sad and I wish I knew more details.
In Surprise, AZ, police arrested Robert and Bonnie Embrey after raiding their home. They kidnapped thier grandson, 11 year old Travis, in May 2004 and fled from Bakersfield, CA to Arizona. They are charged with kidnapping and are awaiting extradition back to [...]
