A few carnivals for your enjoyment:
The Carnival of Homeschooling is up over at the Common Room.
The Carnival of Kid Comedy is up over at Nerd Mom’s, complete with my foible for the week.
And the Carnival of Family Life is up over at Tired But Happy.
I know there are others, but my children need my attention. I’m home now, so should possibly have a worthwhile post this evening.
Or not. We’ll see.
Principled Discovery is a place to stop and discuss news and information related to faith, family and particularly education. Pour yourself a cup of tea and join the conversation!

OK, I have always wondered what people like about these carnivals. Am I anti-blog for speaking such a thing? :+)
I really just don’t get it because I don’t know about you, but I already have so many blogs to read (that I want to read) that it becomes overwhelming to see yet more good (or not) posts to read!
Do you like the carnivals and how do you utilize them?
Warmly,
Kate
I do like them, but you are also right. I do not read them all, normally. Unless it is a small carnival with not too many entries. I skim for what looks interesting or perhaps from a blog I haven’t read before.
They are nice because they pull together a week’s worth of what the participants consider their best posts or at least what they would most like to share.
They are also nice for promoting your blog or specific posts or specific things you wish to share. If your blog is well-suited to the carnival and the carnival has much following/promotion, you will get a few extra hits at least. It varies widely, however.
I’ll be hosting the Carnival Of Homeschooling September 12 so that would be a good time to get your feet wet with an entry : )
Carnivals are a useful tool, but they can be overwhelming. All things in perspective. Blogging is like grazing for me. I move around to quite a few spots, with a few becoming a staple in my diet. Carnivals help me find new grazing spots and some will be added to the daily menu.
