Thanks, Heather! I love this style of teaching because it seems more to me like the way Jesus taught, ie., through object lessons and metaphor. The children are engaged and very involved.

Things don't always go so smoothly, but I have been trying to develop the habit of thinking more like this so that it comes more naturally.

And what is it with those boys that just wander off when it just starts to really get interesting? My son is definitely there for the dough punching, though.

Wow--I have never heard of this approach and always liken my own style to Charlotte Mason but THIS looks like one of OUR days! Well, that is when I have my act together. I turn everything into a discussion while we look for physical illustrations and the kids gladly participate--until my youngest and only boy gets tired of it and wanders off to play on his own.

This is an awesome lesson plan. We love Middle Eastern foods. I make Hummus all of the time. There is some in my refrigerator right now. My husband has tried to make Indian flatbread, but it didn't come out like the lovely Naan in the restaurants (they use a tandoor to cook it). Your bread looks great! I love how you brought the focus of your lesson around Christ. This is how Jesus taught... simple proverbs with every-day materials. Deep spiritual lessons that are so easy, a little child can grasp them! :)
