I definitely agree that times are changing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I never knew that much about Franklin Pierce, but came across this message while doing some research for a post on NCLB for another blog.  It struck me how relevant it is to so many issues today.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;He really seemed to have a vision for what the founders intended and for the consequences of straying down this path.</description>

<p>I never knew that much about Franklin Pierce, but came across this message while doing some research for a post on NCLB for another blog.  It struck me how relevant it is to so many issues today.</p>

When I read Franklin Pierce's words, I thought of several important and powerful people in our governing history that 'got it' too. Davy Crockett was one of them.</description>
