Better, I'd think, to form a common worldview while young than have to start from scratch as an adult confronted with an unwelcome reality.
***********************************
Because thinking for one's self is so much effort? ;-)

I haven't actually read the book, yet, but have been following the debate. I ALMOST purchased it as we started our unit on geology, but opted for something more general.

How does science advance if we aren't allowed to question anything?

I'll be sure and pick a copy up when we get over to see the GC with the kiddos. ;) I have heard much about the debate... and love every minute of it! God is awesome.

I also purchased this book a year or so ago. It is an excellent book. It is well written with breath taking photography and with quite an emphase on the scientific aspect of the canyon; real science, not the "I believe this so lets make the evidence support this." It can be purchased at visionforum.com which is a Christian company.

I bought this book for my grandma (not a Christian) who loves the Grand Canyon. It is excellent! I am so glad to read from your blog that it is still on the shelf at the park's bookstore! Praise God!
Mandi

"David Barna seems like a reasonable man with a reasonable stance."

That about said it for me as well.
