Thanks for the cool idea. Janette made something like this for Gabriel recently, but it was mainly for color and number recognition. He turned it into a story wheel, I think, as he searched for the treasure chest Janette hid under one of the panels.

Jo, I hope they enjoy it! I don’t know why the children I have worked with enjoyed these particular books so much. I guess it is the novelty of how the pages turn.

As I was reading this I had science on the brain. What a cool way to teach literature and science together… let’s see you could do a plant cycle, butterflies, frogs, ooh, and the water cycle.

The problem with this is that Marissa is too old for this and when I get my other kids from Haiti, they will be too young. Besides, they won’t speak english. When the time comes to teach these things, will I be able to remember that Dana posted about this once?
