Voted? Get your sticker!

Browsing through campaign speeches last night, I came across It Coulda’ Been Worse’s shameless plea for votes. One of her commenters noted,

I did my part. I’d like one of those stickers now that says “I voted today.”

Well, Ellen from The Happy Wonderer, today is your lucky day. Because I thought that was a grand idea. First the more traditional version:

And due to the number of bloggers I have noted encouraging their readers to “vote early and often,” I couldn’t resist a slightly modified version:

The links on these buttons will take you to the Homeschool Blog Awards voting page, but for those not participating, you could also choose to support Alasandra’s awards going on until December 31.

And if you really do want an “I voted” sticker, feel free to display either one!

Happy Voting! Again!  Even if (sniff) you aren’t voting for me.

Ha!Ha! Great idea! Can I pass these out at my campaign headquarters? Oh, that’s right no one else here has a blog. :)

    Good luck, Dana!

  2. Dana, December 6, 2007:

You can pass them out anywhere you want. : ) You can even print them off.

  3. Fiddledeedee, December 6, 2007:

You crack me up. Look at your technologically gifted self! Much better than what I could have come up with.

Well, I’m off to kiss more babies. This campaigning business is hard work. :)

  4. Dana, December 6, 2007:

Isn’t it though? The kissing babies part is fun at least. Do you think people will vote for me because my baby is so cute? Maybe I should post more pictures of her in my posts.

  5. Jacque, December 6, 2007:

golly gee willikers Dana… you really want a job at HSBA don’t you? :) hahaaaa you’re funny. Can you make one that says “I gave up my place in the HSBA ‘07nominations so they could go on”? HAAA No, I was not nominated in the Funniest Blog category. Could ya’ tell?

    blessings my friend~

  6. Dana, December 6, 2007:

Get cursed at and slandered for trying to put together something for others? No, I’ll pass, thank you. I think I’ve run out of ways to keep my election bid at the top, however, so I’ll have to start relying on actual content. : )

  7. Karen, December 6, 2007:

Hey…I’ve got your back, sister. You’ve got one more vote…from me. :)

  8. Dana, December 6, 2007:

    Woohoo!

  9. Marsha, December 6, 2007:

Funny idea on the stickers, Dana!

Just dropping by to say howdy and thanks for stopping by my blog.

    Have a wonderful week!
    Marsha

  10. Alasandra, December 6, 2007:

    Thanks for linking to me.

Good luck with both awards. I have always enjoyed reading your blog.

  11. Life On The Planet, December 6, 2007:

I need one of those, “I Voted Again,” badges, being from Louisiana. Vote early, vote often, I always say.

  12. Dana, December 6, 2007:

Not a problem, Marsha! I was taking some time last night to peruse the nominees to decide who to vote for. There were a few new ones to me, particularly in the humor category. Which is how I found you!

Thank you, Alasandra. That really does mean a lot.

Go for it, Life on the Planet. Most people think of Chicago when they say that, but perhaps LA needs to claim its rightful place!

  13. Kellie, December 6, 2007:

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have not “met” many outside of homeschoolblogger.com and this contest has taken me beyond, and I’ve found many great blogs as a result.

  14. Linda, December 6, 2007:

Hey…what are you saying about us Chicagoans??? (she writes as she goes over to HSBA to vote again…and again….and again….)

Contrary to public opinion, our fair city did not get it’s “Windy City” nickname from the gentle breezes (HA!) off the lake. The nickname came from its “windy” politicians, most of whom spend a good deal of their time engaging in, and encouraging, dishonest politics.

So I say…when in Chicago, do as the Chicagoans do.

    I’ll take the second button.

  15. Linda, December 6, 2007:

I took the second button and amended a recent post along with a little bit of begging for votes for you!

Just remember, like all good Chicago politicians, I do take kickbacks.

  16. Arby, December 6, 2007:

I just cast my vote for you and grabbed my vote (again) button. Good luck!

  17. JacciM, December 7, 2007:

Very silly. Very, very silly. I dig it :) Best wishes to you, Dana! I voted for you yesterday.

  18. Dana, December 7, 2007:

Kellie, that is the way I was back when I still had a blog at HSB. Surfing friends lists and that random button made it too easy!

Aw, thanks, Linda. Kickbacks? Can I share the chocolate cookies Life on the Planet made?

Thanks, Arby! Especially for stopping by because I really was enjoying your blog. I’ll check out more later.

Silly?! Moi?! Never! But since you voted for me, I’ll deal with it. : )

  19. Linda, December 7, 2007:

    Chocolate??? Did you say chocolate??

  20. Dana, December 7, 2007:

Yes…Chicagoans take kickbacks and women take chocolate. : )

  21. Jacque, December 8, 2007:

I think your content is what got your where you are Dana. I guess I’ll have to make my own button then. You know, there are people out there who do realize the value of what we have done and have offered the kindest and most sincere encouragement. I have seen comments you have left on many different blogs, and you have held us in high regard to everyone… we appreciate that. I mean, for heaven’s sake, we are only human. We wanted it to be fun. (runs and hides, awaiting the fall-out)

Oh, and, while I’m here, and your (much larger than mine) audience is reading through these… I’ll just have everyone know that the HSBA prizes are transferrable. Just a little FYI. :)
Nope… still not in the funniest blogs category… but I am trying. Oh wait. I can’t be nominated. Never mind.

Have a great weekend my friend!

Thank you, Jacque. That is very kind of you to say. I really do appreciate all you guys have done. And I guess that would actually be libeled, not slandered. I looked it up and libel applies to blogging.

Now you are sounding all legal. “Prizes transferrable.” : ) Next year, we should see if we can get a lawyer to run them. And maybe have pages and pages of stuff to download, initial, sign and return before sending in our nominations. That would be fun.
