Rosie Boom, New Zealand homeschooling mother of six, has just a touch of the homeschooling blues.
OK, maybe it is a bit early in the year for that here in the US. After all, most of us are in the throws of planning and purchasing for the year which is my absolute favorite part of homeschooling. My plans all look so shiny and fresh and they are as of yet unmarred by the reality of living and learning with five children. And did I mention stuff? It’s like Christmas in July!
But those days still come, if only for a fleeting moment while the children are all “scrapping.” That would be fighting, not enthusiastically decorating their scrapbooks of learning. What better way to head them off with some encouragement from Heart of the Matter’s second annual Parenting and Home Education Conference?
On Monday, August 3 at 10AM I will be providing you absolutely nothing to help prevent those moments, but I will be helping you to walk through why you are homeschooling as we look at the importance of developing an educational philosophy. Bad days happen, but when you know why you are doing what you are doing and have it right there in writing, it helps to keep you from jumping ship midyear.

How did you ever find this video?! Love the cultural similarities *and* differences, too!
Don’t remember, exactly. I get a lot of stuff in my email box, and this probably came through because of things I’m subscribed to due to the fact my husband is Australian.
I don’t have them, yet. Usually, I get them around early December, and late March. But, I almost always take time off during those months, which helps.
It is definitely Christmas in July, right now. We keep getting boxes, and the kids are oohing and ahhing over the stuff we’re getting. I love that they love getting books as much as toys. That makes for a happy mommy.
